Award Audit Trail: 4-Minute Complete Auditor Guide
An award audit trail is what lets a programme prove its decisions were fair. This 4-minute guide shows everything an auditor can see in AwardScience, from time-stamped activity logs to a ledger of every AI operation, without being able to change a thing.
The video follows an auditor of the Hopebridge Foundation award through seven tools, each built to answer a question a board, regulator or review committee is likely to ask.

The award audit trail log
Head into Analytics and open the Audit Log. Every action is there, time-stamped and tied to the person who made it. Filter by date, user or method to find exactly what you need in seconds, and export the full log to Excel in one click.
Give auditors read-only access
- As programme manager, open the flow in Studio.
- Select the UI element you want the auditor to see.
- Add the Auditor role to its read permissions, then save and publish.
From then on, the auditor opens a stage from their to-do list and sees a read-only badge at the top of the card. Nothing is editable: what they read is exactly what the applicant submitted and what the judges reviewed.
Flag and annotate with the decision trail
Auditors can flag nominations red, yellow or green and leave their own remarks for reference as they work through a review, without altering the nomination itself.
Trace every form change with version history
In Studio, go to Pages, select List, choose a page and hit View Versions. Every published version is saved with its date. Open History to see each individual action taken on that form, and roll back to a previous state if needed. If you need to show exactly what was live during the submission window, it’s all here.
See who had access to what
In Admin, open Permissions and select a group. You’ll see which stages it can access, what actions it can perform and the conditions that control that access — a clear answer to who could see or change what.
Account for every AI operation
Hover over the AI symbol in the top right corner for a full breakdown: remaining AI budget, amount used, total quota, and how many AI submissions have been used and are left. If the board asks how much AI was used and what it cost, the answer is right there.
Produce compliance-ready exports from the award audit trail
Go to Analytics, open Reports and select Application Report. Choose the rows, set the date range and any criteria, and hit Generate Report. It arrives in your inbox structured and ready for a board, a regulator or an internal review committee.
- Who did it — every action tied to a person
- When — time-stamped and filterable
- What changed — form versions and history
- Who could — group permissions laid out
