Multi-Season Award Management: 2-Minute Easy Guide
Multi-season award management lets you run one award cycle after another without rebuilding it every year. This 2-minute video shows how AwardScience seasons give each cycle its own timeline, pages and workflow, copied from last year in a few clicks.
Annual awards, spring and autumn intakes, or pilot rounds that later become permanent programmes all need the same thing: a fresh cycle that starts from what worked last time, without touching the records of the cycle before.

Create a new season for multi-season award management
- Click Season in the menu, then hit New Season.
- Select Copy an Existing Season and choose the season you want to duplicate.
- Give the new season a name and set its time zone.
- Pick the start and end dates.
- Toggle Set as Default Season if this will be your primary season.
Setting the time zone per season matters for international programmes, where a deadline of midnight means very different things in different places.
What the default season does
A default season is the main container for all submissions. Any application submitted within its date range falls into that season, and it also acts as the fallback for submissions that arrive outside the period, so nothing is left without a home.
What gets copied from the previous cycle
Copying a season brings across everything you built last time, and the system shows you exactly what was duplicated:
- Flows — the stages and rules of the process
- Pages — the public and applicant-facing pages
- Forms — application and scoring forms
- Email templates — every message the cycle sends
Each season stays independent
Each season has its own page, flow and templates, so you can customise one cycle without affecting another. In the video, the Sitemap for Nominee shows eight apply pages — four from the original season and four from the new one.
Changing the application open and close dates in the new season’s flow leaves the old season’s dates exactly as they were. That’s the key point of multi-season award management: last year’s records stay intact while this year’s cycle moves on.
